Director's BIO
Pieter Coudyzer (° 1978, Belgium) studied animation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent (Belgium). In 2003 he graduated with Moodswing, a parody on the conventions of the sitcom genre. The film was selected for more than 100 festivals and won the Grand Prize at Anima in 2004 and the Franscuscus Pycke Prize of the Academy in Ghent.
In 2007 Pieter was one of the filmmakers to participate in DichtVorm a compilation of short animated films based on contemporary Flemish poetry.
In 2013 he finished The Wake, a poetic animated short which tells the story of an introverted man and his relationship with his comatose wife. The Wake won the Sabam-award at Anima 2013.
